HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Wow! I think I lost a whole year somewhere! Somehow I now have 2 kids in school and I am closer to 40 then 30 (like fine wine, right Miss Jane!)! So now 2012 is gone. Now it’s time to gear up for 2013!
This is not my New Year’s “Goal” post. I have to do that still. (Not Procrastinating may have to be added to my 2013 goals!) I would love to take a look at last year’s post (you can see it here) and see where I succeeded and what I need to add to this year’s list.
But I do know that this year I wanted to do an on-going photo project. Something like a 365 Project like Boots and Tea (you have to read theirs. It is such a wonderful conversation between friends). But I had tried to do the monthly Instagram ones (where you have a photo-a-day for each month) and never really succeeded in getting a shot EVERY day. So I decided to set a more realistic goal (another good phrase for my 2013) and was invited by a photog friend from Vegas to join a 52 Blog Circle! So excited! (Thank you Jennifer!)
So I jumped on it…Once a week…I should be able to handle this! I am so excited. How it will work is every Sunday I will be posting my interpretation of that week’s theme and then link to the next photographer in my blog circle for you to be able to see how they interpreted the same theme. Every one of us will have a link to the next until it gets back to me. I personally love to see how different people see the same “scene” in a different way. For this, the “scene” is the weekly topic.
Don’t worry though, I won’t write this much EVERY week! I just wanted to introduce you to my 2013 52-Week blog posts.
Okay then…
This week’s topic was “New”. When I first saw the topic list a ton of ideas came to mind and perhaps I might continue to explore those this week. But in the end I kept coming back to one thing…New ME.
The New Year is typically a time when we look ahead at what we want to change, try or become. I have some ideas about what I want to do with my mind, my home, my body, my business, my family and my heart and soul. So to represent my “New” I wanted to give you a peek at some of the things I will be looking to work on for the New ME…

The book I am holding should actually read “I Was Really NEVER Organized…So Now What?” LOL. Believe me there are a ton more books that could be here…I should go to the library and check them all out. It would be quite and impressive tower! These are just the ones that have been unpacked from the moving boxes and readily accessible the night I took this…okay it was last night about 11:30pm…I think I mentioned I need work on procrastination already.
Now that you saw my take on what “New” meant to me, please go check out my fellow photographer Katrina Lee of Katrina Lee Photography in Nebraska and see her gorgeous work and how she saw “New” through her lens!
How would you see “New”? I would love to hear about it in them comments! Better yet, if you have a photo please place a link in the comments so we can check it out!
Happy New Year and God Bless you in 2013!
Cheers,
K

Love it! I just got a remote for my camera in my stocking… I need to get into more of my photos!!
What a great stocking gift! They are so much fun! So many things you can do with it. Plus, your boys will probably have fun with it too! Mine think it is so cool to be able to push the button. We have gotten some really funny shots. Good laughs.
I love this, Kasia! I have never done a good selfie (and I like your take on it – hiding behind a book – ha!). Do you have a remote, or did you set your timer? I don’t have a remote yet. Need to get one. I wish we’d gotten to know each other (or at least have MET each other!) before you moved. I think we’d get along spectacularly.
I have a remote. I love it! I use it a lot.
Selfies are fun!
I agree! Wish we would have gotten together before. But if I make it back for WPPI let’s be sure to!
Absolutely!
Love this! Very creative self portrait. I must buy that book. I USED to be organized too…
Julie, I wish I could say I USED to be organized! But it is a great book so far. Even for folks like me! LOL!

If you I can’t laugh at myself then I am taking myself too seriously!
This is so fun!!!! Such a fantastic interpretation of this week’s prompt, just love the composition and story you’ve told with this photo.
Can’t wait to follow you throughout the year!
Thanks Valerie. I am not the best writer (or the best photographer either) but it’s really me that I try to put out there. I write just like I was having a conversation with you. It’s my blog and I really want people to get to know ME!
I am so excited to be on this trip with all of you! It’s going to be a good challenge and so inspiring and so fun! Here we go!
This is perfect, very creative–I love it!
Thank you Stacee!
